Children of the Stars, A Love Poem

A love poem, written in 1999 for my wife Bev on her April 15 birthday. This year, Bev is turning 83 and the words are more and more meaningful:

Children Of The Stars – A Love Poem

We are, after all
each
all
children of the stars
Man – me
Woman – you
We tether
Mother of our children
you and I
together
Our journey unknown
true to each other
We go – Where?
We do – Why?
Monkey-evolved rascals
numens -rather
humans – ever
Young – then old
Ever better
When death says goodbye
Is it forever?

By Ed Dawkins 1933 – (      ), with love to Bev Dawkins 1935 – (      )
